This light is highly likely to be an incursion—the catastrophic phenomenon where two different universes attract and collide. From the visual details, we can see another Earth (presumably our main MCU 616 Earth) hurtling directly towards the X-Men universe.
2. A Different, Terrifying Doctor Doom
Next, we get our first look at Doctor Doom. Although played by Robert Downey Jr. (RDJ), his voice in the trailer is completely unrecognizable, speaking with what sounds like a heavy Romanian accent.
Doom delivers an ominous warning: an unstoppable danger is approaching, and they must make a decision they have never dared to make before. Rumours suggest that Doom might start off as an anti-villain, initially helping the Avengers stop the incursions before turning to a darker path. He seems to be manipulating the X-Men into destroying the incoming planet (Earth-616) to save their own universe. While the X-Men typically avoid harming others, the imminent destruction of their home forces them into making this impossible choice.
3. The New Avengers Tower & A 'Thunderbolts' Connection
The trailer transitions to the New Avengers Tower (formerly Stark Tower, now the Thunderbolts' base). Here, we find Sam Wilson’s Captain America and Ant-Man. They are joined by the Fantastic Four and Thor, who arrive at the tower in a spaceship.
This scene serves as a direct continuation of the post-credits scene from the Thunderbolts* movie, where the Fantastic Four’s spaceship enters the 616 universe. We even see Red Guardian wearing the exact same new outfit and backward cap featured in that post-credits sequence.

Desperate for help, the New Avengers and the Fantastic Four travel to Wakanda to meet with Shuri (Black Panther). They eventually make their way to Namor’s underwater kingdom, Talokan.
Talokan's environment appears modified, featuring a massive wall of water separating the dry sand from the sea, likely built by Namor to help his people adapt to heat following the events of Wakanda Forever. However, the meeting goes south when Namor disagrees with the heroes' proposal, leading to a massive clash where Sue Storm is forced to unleash her forcefields.
6. X-Mansion Showdown: Avengers vs. X-Men
The conflict shifts to the X-Mansion, where a full-scale battle erupts between the Avengers and the X-Men. The action-packed shots showcase:
- Cyclops (Scott Summers) preparing to unleash his optic blasts.
- An incredible martial-arts face-off between Gambit and Shang-Chi (who sports a brand-new suit).
- Yelena Belova attacking an opponent, only for the character to be revealed as Mystique (in her first official MCU look), who catches Yelena's weapon and mimics her appearance.

Since Loki is currently holding the branches of the multiverse together as the God of Stories, he cannot easily enter a physical timeline. It is speculated that he is using his vast new magic to project an image of himself into the timeline to guide the heroes.
Notably, big names like Hulk, Spider-Man, Hawkeye, Deadpool, and Wolverine are entirely absent from the trailer. Marvel is likely keeping their massive roles tightly under wraps to avoid spoiling the film's biggest surprises!
