The Network Engineering Hackathon is a technical competition focused on designing, configuring, securing, and troubleshooting modern network infrastructures. Participants will work on real-world networking scenarios involving routing, switching, network security, and performance optimization using industry-standard tools and concepts.

Design a scalable and efficient network architecture for a given scenario (enterprise, campus, data center, or ISP). Participants must create topology diagrams, IP addressing schemes, and explain design choices.

Configure routing and switching protocols such as VLANs, STP, OSPF, or static routing in a simulated environment. Focus on connectivity, redundancy, and performance.

Analyze a pre-configured faulty network and identify issues related to latency, packet loss, misconfigurations, or downtime. Participants must fix problems and document their troubleshooting steps.

Secure a network by implementing firewalls, ACLs, and basic intrusion prevention techniques. The goal is to protect the infrastructure from unauthorized access while maintaining availability.
